You herd it here first: MCR, the sixth-largest hotel owner-operator in the United States, has acquired the 157-room Hilton Garden Inn Denver South Park Meadows Area.
Located just 12 minutes from Centennial Airport, the nation’s second-busiest general aviation airport, the hotel is a 20-minute drive from Denver’s famous National Western Complex, home of the National Western Stock Show running from January 12 to 27, 2019. Established in 1906, the world’s largest stock show boasts 15,000 animals, rodeo performances, bull riders, a BBQ throwdown, livestock competitions and booths selling everything from cowboy hats to Native American jewelry.
Two days before the Stock Show begins, slip on your cowboy boots and hoof it a few minutes from the hotel to the Light Rail, which heads into downtown Denver. There, on the city’s proclaimed Dress Western Day, the Stock Show will kick off with the traditional drive of Longhorn cattle, horses and western wagons through the streets of downtown Denver.
Given that 650,000 people are expected to attend the Stock Show, you’ll want an udderly peaceful place to lay your head. Many of the Hilton Garden Inn Denver South Park Meadows Area’s guestrooms have views of the beautiful Meridian Golf Club, and all have microwaves and mini refrigerators.
Back at the ranch, you can also work out your weary calves at the 24-hour fitness center or lasso a seat at the onsite Garden Grille & Bar, which offers a breakfast buffet and dinner. Should you wish to graze elsewhere, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to new pastures within five miles.
