The Lexington Hotel, Autograph Collection

New York, NY

All that jazz! Built in 1929, the historic 725-room Lexington Hotel is rich in Art Deco style and Jazz Era ambiance. Located on Lexington Avenue and East 48th Street, the hotel was landmarked in 2016 as one of the most architecturally significant properties in Manhattan. Today, the pet-friendly member of Marriott’s Autograph Collection nods to its past as a respite for celebrity residents and a refuge for guests in the Prohibition Era.

Destined for Fame

Each of our themed specialty suites evoke a legendary guest. Suite 1806, the Norma Jeane Suite, unfolds in the rooms where Marilyn Monroe and New York Yankees Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio spent their 274-day marriage in 1954 (the actress filmed The Seven-Year Itch during that time!). The Lady Ella Suite is inspired by frequent visitor Ella Fitzgerald, who crooned across the street at Basin Street East nightclub in the 1960s. And The Arthur Godfrey Suite pays homage to the entertainer who broadcasted his radio show live from the hotel’s Hawaiian Room, where hula dancers once performed while revelers sipped coconut willies!

Comforts of Home

There’s so much to see in our Midtown East neighborhood — Grand Central Terminal, Rockefeller Center and the United Nations Headquarters, to name a few — but you may not want to leave our legendary walls. Linger over a cup of coffee at our onsite Starbucks. Stretch at our own fitness center or the state of the art, 15,000-square-foot Crunch gym connected to our lobby. Sign up for a group fitness class and take advantage of cardio equipment and weights. Visit the Stayton Room cocktail bar, named after former U.S. Navy Captain William Stayton, founder of the Association Against the Prohibition Amendment and widely recognized as a key leader in the repeal of the 18th Amendment. In town for business? Get to work in one of our six meeting rooms across nearly 4,000 square feet!
