MCR WILL ACQUIRE CLOUD-BASED HOTEL PMS SOFTWARE COMPANY STAYNTOUCH

The country’s fifth-largest hotel owner-operator will invest $10 million to expand StayNTouch’s research and development

August 31, 2020

MCR, the fifth-largest hotel owner-operator in the United States and one of Fast Company’s 10 Most Innovative Travel Companies of 2020, will acquire StayNTouch, a leading cloud-based hotel property management system and contactless solutions provider, for $46 million.

StayNTouch brings the hotel property management system (PMS) into the 21st century with a critical hotel operations tool that allows managers to track reservations, room rates, room inventory and housekeeping on a user-friendly mobile or tablet interface.

Unlike legacy PMS platforms, StayNTouch’s off-the-shelf, intuitive technology requires minimal staff training and can be used anywhere — even off-property — on any mobile device. StayNTouch’s software is also half the price of its competitors’ total ownership costs and free of exorbitant initial integration fees.

One of the only property management systems to offer contactless guest check-in via a smart, web-based kiosk, StayNTouch has added more than 40 hotels to its proprietary platform over the past five months during the COVID-19 pandemic. StayNTouch’s plug-and-play technology allows hoteliers to raise service levels, reduce costs and drive revenue.

StayNTouch’s system, which vertically integrates with hotels’ technology stacks, is used in 500 hotels worldwide across more than 100,000 guestrooms, including the 512-room TWA Hotel at New York City’s JFK Airport owned and operated by MCR, Yotel properties, MGM Resorts, Great Wolf Lodge, Mint Hotels, Conscious Hotels, Valencia Hotels, Modus Hotels and Margaritaville.

MCR has a strong relationship with the StayNTouch executive team based in Bethesda, Maryland, that dates back to the TWA Hotel’s development in 2018. “StayNTouch is the best property management system on the market,” says Tyler Morse, the Chairman and CEO of MCR/MORSE Development, who will serve as Chairman of StayNTouch. “MCR will partner with StayNTouch’s team to invest in customer support, product development and technology infrastructure to continue the company’s history of innovation and expand StayNTouch’s reach around the world.”
